The Centre for Governance and Development (CGD) is a registered policy research and advocacy not-for-profit organization. The Centre is an active participant in influencing the direction of development and social transformation in Kenya. Its objectives are to:-

• Institutionalize democratic culture as a firm foundation for governance and development.
• Promote democratic governance and sustainable development process and programmes aimed at empowering civil society, strengthening representative institutions and enhancing respect for human rights and gender equality.
• Enhance knowledge and action.
• Influence policy in areas of governance and development.
