| | Citizen’s Participation and Advocacy Programme (CPAP) Detailed Background The programme, focuses on supporting and monitoring the implementation of the constitution and stimulating civic participation in demanding governmental fidelity to constitutional provisions.
It intervenes by facilitating forums for policy makers on the implications of the constitutional issues and educating the public on the constitutional provisions. Through the constitution we expect creation of many new institutions and processes. Most of these institutions and processes envisage an active citizenry that is aware of its rights and obligations and has the capacity to continuously interact with and engage the institutions in order to consolidate democracy, hold leaders accountable and protect human rights.
